Many friends and customers have asked where the name Butchie Built came from. To this I answer with the story but also letting them know it describes a product philosophy. At a young age I was given the nick name Butchie by my dad, if it where it up to him he probably would have made this my given name. This was more of a family thing for most of my life until I took a job with an old high school classmate in his cabinet shop. As a novice woodworker I tended to be overly cautious and built things apparently strong enough to survive nuclear devastation resulting in a ribbing from my co-workers for it. Since my boss was also a long time friend who knew my family well it wasn’t long before my style of construction became known around the wood shop as being “Butchie Built” it was a moniker given to projects that were overbuilt to withstand high levels of abuse.
When I decided to start making trolling tubes I experimented with many different materials and designs but one thing that became evident that quality construction and materials were required to make reliable products that will hold up to big fish. So my pledge to you is that I will overbuild a quality product that will not fail under normal use conditions or I will replace it free of charge. Below are some shots of satisfied customers catches.
